Privacy Policy

Effective June 9, 2026

This Privacy Policy explains how Voltage SD (“Voltage SD,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) collects, uses, discloses, and protects personal information when you visit https://voltagesandiego.com, submit our contact form, or use our secure client portal (collectively, the “Services”). It also describes the rights available to California residents under the California Consumer Privacy Act, as amended by the California Privacy Rights Act (together, the “CCPA”).

By using the Services, you agree to the practices described here. If you do not agree, please do not use the Services.

1. Information We Collect

We collect the following categories of personal information, as defined by the CCPA:

Identifiers & Contact Data

Name, business name, email address, and any details you choose to include when you submit our contact form or communicate with us. For client-portal users, your account login (email) and profile name.

Commercial & Professional Information

The services you express interest in, your business/industry, the project details you share, support tickets you open, and records of the deliverables and reports associated with your account.

Internet & Network Activity

Aggregate, mostly anonymized usage data about how visitors interact with our website and our clients' websites, collected through analytics tools (e.g., Google Analytics) — such as pages viewed, referring source, approximate region, device/browser type, and similar technical information collected via cookies and similar technologies.

Inferences

Limited inferences we draw to provide marketing services to our clients (for example, which acquisition channels perform best). We do not use personal information to build profiles reflecting sensitive characteristics.

Sensitive Personal Information.We do not intentionally collect “sensitive personal information” as defined by the CCPA (such as government IDs, precise geolocation, financial account credentials, or health information), and we do not use or disclose any such information for the purpose of inferring characteristics about you.

2. Sources of Information

We collect personal information directly from you (forms, emails, portal activity), automatically through cookies and analytics when you use the Services, and from our service providers that help us operate the Services.

3. How We Use Your Information

We use personal information for the following business purposes:

  • To respond to inquiries, schedule consultations, and provide quotes;
  • To deliver, maintain, and improve our marketing services and the client portal;
  • To send service-related communications, reports, and recaps;
  • To measure and improve the performance of our website and our clients' campaigns;
  • To secure the Services, prevent fraud and abuse, and enforce our terms;
  • To comply with legal obligations.

4. How We Disclose Your Information

We share personal information only with service providers and contractors who process it on our behalf and are contractually bound to use it solely to provide services to us. These include, among others: cloud hosting and database providers (e.g., Vercel, Supabase), our transactional email provider (e.g., Resend), web-analytics providers (e.g., Google Analytics), and AI search providers we query to measure visibility for our clients (e.g., OpenAI, Perplexity, and Google). When we measure AI search visibility, we may submit publicly available business names (such as your restaurant name and competitors) to these providers; we do not submit your contact details for that purpose.

We may also disclose information to comply with the law or valid legal process, to protect the rights, safety, and property of Voltage SD or others, or in connection with a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets (in which case we will require the recipient to honor this Policy).

5. We Do Not Sell or Share Your Personal Information

We do not sell your personal information for money, and we do not share your personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising, as those terms are defined under the CCPA. We have not sold or shared personal information in the preceding twelve (12) months. We honor opt-out preference signals, including the Global Privacy Control (GPC), where applicable.

6. Cookies & Tracking Technologies

We use strictly necessary cookies to operate the Services (for example, to keep you logged in to the portal) and analytics cookies to understand site usage. You can control cookies through your browser settings, and you may opt out of Google Analytics using the Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on. Disabling some cookies may affect how the Services function.

7. Your California Privacy Rights

If you are a California resident, you have the following rights under the CCPA:

  • Right to Know / Access — request the categories and specific pieces of personal information we have collected about you, the sources, the purposes, and the categories of third parties to whom we disclosed it.
  • Right to Delete — request that we delete personal information we collected from you, subject to certain exceptions.
  • Right to Correct — request that we correct inaccurate personal information.
  • Right to Opt Out of Sale/Sharing — although we do not sell or share personal information, you may still submit a request, which we will honor.
  • Right to Limit Use of Sensitive Personal Information — we do not use sensitive personal information for purposes that would trigger this right.
  • Right to Non-Discrimination — we will not discriminate against you for exercising any of these rights.

How to Exercise Your Rights

You may submit a request through either of these two methods: (1) email us at tyler.gray@voltagesandiego.com, or (2) use our contact form. We will acknowledge your request within 10 business days and respond within 45 days (extendable by an additional 45 days where reasonably necessary, with notice). To protect your privacy, we will take steps to verify your identity before fulfilling a request, typically by confirming information associated with your account or communications.

Authorized Agents

You may use an authorized agent to submit a request on your behalf. We may require the agent to provide proof of your written permission and may still verify your identity directly.

8. “Shine the Light”

California Civil Code Section 1798.83 permits California residents to request information regarding our disclosure of personal information to third parties for their direct marketing purposes. We do not disclose personal information to third parties for their own direct marketing purposes.

9. Data Retention

We retain personal information only as long as necessary to fulfill the purposes described in this Policy, to provide the Services, to comply with our legal obligations, resolve disputes, and enforce our agreements. When information is no longer needed, we delete or de-identify it.

10. Data Security

We use reasonable administrative, technical, and organizational measures designed to protect personal information, including encryption in transit (HTTPS), access controls, row-level data isolation between client accounts, and limiting access to authorized personnel. No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

11. Children's Privacy

The Services are intended for businesses and are not directed to children. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 16. If you believe a minor has provided us personal information, please contact us and we will delete it.

12. Third-Party Links

The Services may contain links to third-party websites we do not control. This Policy does not apply to those sites, and we encourage you to review their privacy policies.

13. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Policy from time to time. When we do, we will revise the “Effective” date above. Material changes will be posted on this page. Your continued use of the Services after an update constitutes acceptance of the revised Policy.
